Our Fees

The Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is part of an Australian Medicare initiative to help support individuals to access rebate-able psychology sessions with a mental health professional.

The MHCP lets you claim a rebate for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year through Medicare.

Your GP is the first point of contact for creating a MHCP. Your GP will gather an overall mental health history and identify any specific concerns or goals you might have and determine if you are eligible for a MHCP. They may then develop a MHCP that outlines treatment recommendations.

To be able to access a Medicare rebate, you must be a Medicare cardholder and have a referral to see a psychologist and a valid MHCP.

Initially, your GP will be able to refer you for up to 6 sessions with a mental health clinician. Once completed, you will need to return to your GP to review your progress and apply for the remaining sessions.

If you don't have Medicare or don't wish to use a Mental Health Care Plan, sessions will be charged privately. If you have any private health insurance, you may be able to claim a portion of the fees through your private health insurance, however this will depend on your specific policy. It is recommended that you check with your private health insurance provider prior to engaging in therapy.
